friday finds...the 2.7.14 edition...

I love Friday Finds with Kim Klassen ... "it is a place to gather and share ... a place to cherish life's simple pleasures" ... doesn't that sound like such an inviting place?

We are truely having the never~ending winter this year.  It seems like either it is snowing...or tempurates plunge to sub~zero.  I do not remember the last time i saw the grass.  I just to have faith that it is still there buried under mountains of snow ... just sleeping ... just waiting for the warmth of the sun to melt winter away.

My find this week ... if you will ... is the need for kindness right about now.  I think the old man winter is really getting to people.  I see depression, frustration, short~tempers ... overall grouchiness. A heavy veil seems to be covering just about everyone.
Maybe we can help each other out by practicing little acts of kindness ... a smile, a helping hand,  a phone call to a dear friend, a real letter...you know the kind you get in your postbox, or maybe a sprig of flowers and a chocolate!
It is so amazing how one small act can change a person's day...together we can help each other out of the winter's doldrums..

How about it...any acts of kindness you might do this week to brighten someone's day?

I just love the quote..."kindness, is like the snow...it beautifies everything it covers"... so true!

  17. I have noticed the very same thing, Nancyjean, and I am going to take your
prompt about the act of kindness and look for something I can do to make a

  18. Yep I hear you about winter getting to everyone. I started out trying hard to enjoy our snow but as the week progressed and it continued to snow & snow & snow I've sort of lost that "lovin" feeling. Still it could be worse and like you said perhaps doing a kindness for someone might be just the ticket to help get through the winter blues. Lovely photo.

  19. For the most part I have found people quite friendly. I think many are sick of being stuck in their house and desperate for conversation.

  20. Your post gives me just the little nudge I need to practice a few acts of Random Kindness this week. A friend who will be celebrating a special anniversary will receive a handmade card. The many meals I make for my family, I will make on this day with gratitude. The trip I will need to make to take my elderly mother to the doctor will include taking her to a favorite shop and lunch. Your photo is gorgeous and your encouragement was just what I needed. The days are cold, but my heart may still remain warm.
