cupshakes...

Today is my daughter's last day of summer camp.  It is so hard to believe that eight weeks of camp is over.  The counselors have been so wonderful with all the kids...bowling, mini-golf, movies, games, crafts, sports, swimming...the list goes on and on.  They have made their summer so fun!  Working with special needs kids requires a special type of person; one with alot of patience, understanding, and energy!

Michelle and I made cupcakes for everyone...or should i say cupshakes?
I found this idea from a wonderful website, Bakerella
We made strawberry cupcakes  from a box-mix;  just add some water, eggs and oil. I got the cutest cupcake liners from my favorite kitchen store, Sur La Table.  Fill the liners about 2/3.  Pop them in the oven for about 20 mins and they are ready to decorate.
I made a chocolate ganache to spread on the top of the cupcake.  This looks like a layer of chocolate syrup.
I got out my super big decorating tip and filled my pastry bag with buttercream frosting to decorate the top.  Some sprinkles, a red gum ball and a cute red and white striped paper straw were added and viola...a cupshake!

They all looked so cute sitting on the counter.
I sure hope the kids and counselors enjoy them!

I hope you are having a sweet day too!
Until next time...
