tis the season to celebrate...

it is texture Tuesday again!
Our assignment this week was to center our photo around the concept "celebrate" and to apply any of Kim Klassen's textures.
And what better way to celebrate the season than with the jolly old man himself!

A few weeks ago i was lucky to be able to purchase a DeeGaan santa.  Dee makes them all by hand using all vintage fabrics and treasured objects.  I am in love with all things vintage, so these santas really capture my heart!
Put him together with Kim's beautiful textures, and i am in heaven!

Below is the original photo i worked on.  As you can see, i desaturated some of the colour in order to soften it.  I also darkened it up alittle.
I then applied Kim's February magic edges using the screen mode at 100%.  Then i applied her new poetic texture at around 45% opacity using the soft light mode.  I created a new layer and added the vertical text and lowered that opacity also!
It is amazing what magic Kim's textures can create with just the right photo!
Thank you so much Kim!!
