unfurled wings...

She unfurls her wings.  She speaks her mind.
She is a beautiful parcel of boldness and grace,
 all wrapped up together...
brilliant...shining.
The more of her own light she allows to shine,
the more others shine too.

I want to be her...

I am back home safe and sound.  I flew down to Sanibel to help my mother pack up and sell her home of thirty years. Mom knew it was time to let the home go...her age is slowing creeping up on her.

Thankfully, our last day there was just picture perfect.  I was able to take her to visit all of her favorite places on the island.  One last good bye...Ding Darling, Captiva, Algiers beach, the lighthouse, Grandma Dots, Pinnochio's, her friends... We soaked up all the beauty the island had to offer...hoping that the memories would stay with us forever.
As we sat at the closing, the tears were flowing.  Then it was  time for the very difficult drive back up to Chicagoland...5 days!  We encountered a bad accident that had the road closed for two hours, terrible rains and to top it off a late spring snowstorm that stranded us in Indianapolis for an extra day.  It was if the island just did not want to let us go.
Now are bags are unpacked and we are well rested...just in time for Kim Klassen's new lesson today... a storyboard and alittle haze...too fun!
As much as i hated to leave the island...my home is here and it feels sooo good!

Until next time...

  11. What a hard thing to do... sometimes when we close one door, the next one we open is a blessing.. I received one of your postcards from the card swap, I took your challenge and was successful. I try to live my life everyday with a heart full of gratitude for the many blessings I've been given by the Lord...
