I love Friday Finds with Kim Klassen ... "it is a place to gather and share ... a place to cherish life's simple pleasures" ... doesn't that sound like such an inviting place?
My find this week is happiness ... the wonderful pure kind of happiness of a Special Olympian.
Sunday was Michelle's day. A day to compete ... a day to have fun ... a day to shine. It was the regional gymnastic competition for Illinois Special Olympics.
She woke early ... ate a healthy breakfast ... put on her uniform with all its glitter ... french braided her hair ... checked her equipment ... we were off to the competition.
We arrived with hundreds of other Olympians ... all with that feeling of excitement combined with those nervous butterflies.
What a wonderful day ... for both competitors and spectators. It is such a joy to watch everyone perform their routines. They may not have had that perfect 10.0 from the judges ... but the happiness that filled the gymnasium that day was absolutely contagious!!
Michelle earned five medals ... three golds and two silver. Now she has the opportunity to shine at the state games in June ... and spread some more happiness!

Until next time...
