I have not been posting much lately because i have spring fever!
I just do not want to come inside and sit in front of the computer.
We have had unbelievable weather here in chicagoland...no winter at all really!
At least not the kind we are used to!
This week has been in the low 80s with plenty of sunshine. Today was the third day in a row of record breaking temperatures.
I noticed that the daffodils are starting to bloom, so a drive to the Morton Arboretum was definitely on the schedule for today.
Everything is popping at the Arboretum. The snowdrops were already almost finished and the crocus will probably only be around for a few more days! The early daffodils are blooming everywhere. The forsythia is showing its bright yellows and even the magnolias are ready to burst!
I made a promise to myself to visit the Arboretum at least once a week
to watch it all come to life!
I finally took my winter greens out of their pots.
They looked so bare, that they just had to be filled. I got branches and pussywillows then
surrounded them with colourful pansies.
The planters look wonderful...full of beautiful spring colour...sigh...
"It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold:
when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade."
~Charles Dickens~
Until next time....
