she is my why...

I started another on~line class this week.  Kim Klassen and Xanthe Berkley teamed up and offered a new class...Behind the Scenes...A Creative Guide to Blogging Your Passion.   I have taken classes from both woman before, so together i just know that this will be an amazing journey!
This class is all about blogging...creative ideas to move our blogs forward.

Our first assignment is to write about why we blog. Wow, what a great question!

For years i have enjoyed reading other blogs,
so two years ago i decided to" jump down the rabbit's hole" and see where this journey would take me.
I feel that my blog is an extension of myself...
my thoughts
my photographs
snippets of my life
my dreams

But also it is a place where i can connect with others.
My days are filled taking care of my special needs daughter.  My world revolves around her.  As a result, i do not have much "me time".  Many days it is just she and i filling our time with fun, learning and adventures.
I do not have the time to make many friendships of my own.
Don't get me wrong, i love my life and i would not have it any other way!
 It is totally rewarding!
So blogging helps me to connect with others...and be a part of a wonderful crfeative community.

To Kim and Xanthe...thank you for this wonderful journey
and to fellow bloggers...thank you for such wonderful connections!

a tie to the past, a road to the future..."

Until next time...

  3. Hi Nancy Jean,
Thank you for sharing such a beautiful story. Yes, our stories are kind of similar. An amazing coincidence isn't it?
The timeline I made was very simple. I just stamped various photoshop brushes on a blank document. There are so so many fun ones out in the internet. I don't remember where I got each because I downloaded them a while ago but Deviantart is an amazing site (just search for photoshop brushes). I've downloaded really cute animation brushes like the one of the lady and the building, cute heart signs and arrow signs.. stuff like that. All I do is choose a color and stamp them on :)
    Hope this helps.
Let me know if you'd like to know more.

  5. I'm teaching at the moment,(actually start holidays tomorrow)and as much as I know we give so much time to these 'special' children, they give double amounts back, I'm happy we're able to connect and share our worlds on BTS. It will be a very special journey for all of us. Yx

  7. I'm not sure exactly why it is that I'm tearing up over here. I've had a very frustrating couple of days with my 3 year old, yet you remind me of the bigger picture.

And Nancy I have the benefit of knowing you and Michelle for so many years and yet enjoying being able to re-connect. You amaze me at all you do for Michelle to keep her busy and connected and pushing her forward to independence. You do it all so lovingly! That is part of the great gift of mothering that you and I received so graciously from our own Moms. There is nothing we won't do for our daughters no matter what age. I know how proud you are of all Michelle has accomplished and the road ahead of her is an adventure. Glad I hopped on the journey by keeping both of you in my daily prayers. God indeed has a special plan for her and for you! The fact that she was the "best sister" in Chris' wedding just melts my heart!!!!! See you soon! MaryJane

  11. Nancyjean, I loved reading your story. It does make a difference, I'm finding, if we share more of ourselves. I have to get better at it. I agree with you, it's all about the connection!
