friday finds ... the 3.21 edition

"is the spring coming?" he said.  "what is it like?"
"it is the sun shining on the rain and the rain falling on the sunshine ... "
~frances hodgson burnett ... the secret garden~

I love Friday Finds with Kim Klassen ... "it is a place to gather and share ... a place to cherish life's simple pleasures" ... doesn't that sound like such an inviting place?

My find this week is ... springtime ... finally!!  And what speaks early springtime more than sweet violas?

Every spring i debated whether or not to spend the money on these beauties ... afterall ... their lives are so short lived.
Before long i am spending hundreds of dollars on all the summertime lovelies.
So every year i decided no ... i  will be patient ... i will wait till May and buy those flowers that will last until the first frost.  I will spend my money wisely.

But not this year ... this year i was the first in line to buy flats and flats of pansies.  I NEED them ... my happiness depends on them.  This winter was just too long ... too cold ... too snowy.
I deserve these delicate beauties now... smile ...

  8. Those are sweet, sweet, sweet! In Texas they are a cool weather flower, we plant them in the fall and take them out when it gets warm.

  11. So pretty. I really like the single one. Especially with a touch of orange. I sure don't blame you. I planted a few petunias and lobelia today.

  12. You are so right and these are so gorgeous! We still have a chance of a freeze this week, so I'll be waiting just a little longer to plant my annuals.
