photo~heart connection ... the february edition

"winter is on my head ... but eternal spring is in my heart"
~victor hugo~

It is the first of March ... time for Kat's photo~heart connection.  It is such a wonderful community where we can share our photography ... that special photo that tugs at our heart ... the one that really connects with our soul.  Doesn't that sound just wonderful?

I have a confession to make ... i hate winter ... not every winter ... just this winter.  As i am writing this post, we are having our third, or maybe it is our fourth polar vortex this year.  And a snowstorm is passing through Chicagoland once again.

Winter 2014 is robbing me of my creative spirit.  As much as i try to pick up my camera and click away ... the inspiration has left me.  Everything seems just a tad out of focus. I have tried hard all winter to keep up my mojo.  But my world just seems so white ... so void of color.  Dare i say that photography has become a chore ... gasp!

So as February comes to an end, i find myself counting the days till spring ... 19 to be exact ... when color surrounds me once again ... and my creative spirit soars!

If you have a moment, be sure to click here which will lead you to more photo~heart connections at KatEyeStudio.

until next time ...

  4. Beautiful photo. I can relate to your words, winters here are too mild, but this year we have had more cloudy days than ever and I have missed the sun light ( I can´t even imagine how a polar vortex would make me feel)... wishing you a wonderful and sunny spring.

    Fantastic photo-heart connection

  5. I can understand how hard it is to get through this long and severe winter. This next spring is bound to be a very special one, since you are waiting so long for it. I hope it will come to you soon!

  6. We once lived in Chicago...we were there this past January....flights cancelled for four days....our daughter is still there and would so appreciate your words and frustration. Maybe you can capture with your lens the icicles as they slowly melt into slow drops....or the edges of ponds as the ice disappears and one can see into the depths...oops that is what early spring is all about! I hope it visits you soon.

  7. I loved the photo before I read your words....and then even more after I read them. There's a softness, a longing. Lovely.

  8. I think an awful lot of us would agree with your feelings about this particular winter. But your photo evokes spring, and it will come. And your header! Oh, hallelujah, does that ever lift the spirit!

  11. I truly understand your views on winter, as they are also mine. Normally this season does not get me down, but it has done that to so many of us.

Your image, just a bit blurred, and in monochrome, is perfect for what you describe.

  14. Oh I so love your words. I don't have white all around. Here in Texas it's brown. I am at a loss of creativity too! The photography is stunning however...beautiful!
